Lesley livingston the valiant6/20/2023 THIS WAS GREAT! You are all sleeping on this book and what a grave mistake that is! :O This is everything that I wanted the faux-Roman An Ember in the Ashes to be!įallon is a kick-arse protagonist who is all about bravery, victory and honour. There really isn't any slow building up to anything in this book. I know some people don't like the slow building up to stuff. There is nothing left to say accept this is a bad arsed book to start the series. But so many things are not what they seem in this book. But, Fallon is happy, she wanted to be a fighter just not in this sense and for Caesar. I loved the battles although I hate that the girls were slaves and forced into this life. There is a Roman soldier named Caius (Cai) that has taken a fancy to Fallon and we will see where this leads later on. There are a few other characters that are awesome but I can't name them because it's a secret! She ends up being a great friend to Fallon and an awesome fighter as well. She belongs to Caesar who is her sworn enemy.Īlong the way she meets another slave named Elka and I just love her. But it isn't and it all falls apart.įallon is taken and sold into slavery which ends up getting her into a school to train to become a gladiatrix. She's in love with an awesome guy named Mael and everything is looking perfect. The first book in this series/trilogy/dualogy is amazing!įallon is in training to become one of her father's war chiefs. The valiant never taste of death but once."
